Brother Warren Green

Brother Warren J. Green was
initiated into the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., on December 21, 1961, through Gamma Gamma
Chapter, at Grambling
State
University.
Warren
served in the position of Dean of Pledgees.
After graduation in 1964, Warren
joined the graduate chapter in Grambling, Pi Tau chapter.
After his employment in Grambling, he returned home to
New Orleans
and joined Rho Phi Graduate chapter.
He was Life Member Number 317.
Bro. Green
worked hard for Omega in Rho Phi chapter.
He held the office of Basileus for two terms, he also was Keeper of
Records and Seal. Brother Green
served Rho Phi as the chairman of the picnic Committee for numerous years, Chair
of the Achievement Week committee for five consecutive years, chair of the dance
committee, Chairman of the Talent Hunt committee, he served as a member of the
chapter nomination committee, intake committee, and member of the budget
committee.
He served as a member of the
Crescent City Que’s Club Board of Directors.
He has served as
a Delegate to the District Meetings and as a Delegate to many Conclaves, and
National Leadership Conferences. He
served on the planning committee for both of the Conclaves held in New Orleans in 1977 and 1998.
On the District
level, our Brother was the Undergraduate Advisor for twelve consecutive years.
He served on the Ninth District Scholarship Committee;
he was currently Chairman of the District Community and Civic Affairs
Committee. Brother Green was the Ninth District Omega Man of the Year 1988 and
2003. Bro Green had the distinction
of attending 49 consecutive
meetings.
Bro. Green was elected to
the Unified Omega’s of Louisiana Hall of Fame in 2008.
On the
International level Bro. Green received his 25 year certificate and his 40
year Plaque. He was to receive his
Fifty year pin at this summer’s Conclave in
Washington
at the Centennial celebration . He
served on the International Achievement Week Committee, and was currently a
member of the Community and Civic Affairs Committee.
Bro. Green regularly
attended Monday Night gatherings at the Fraternity House, always displaying his
skills at the dominoes table and in the Bid whist games.
Brother Warren
J. Green was a true Brother who lived his Four Cardinal Principles of Manhood,
Scholarship, Perseverance and Uplift.
